I was interviewed by The Quincy Patriot-Ledger today. They spoke to
Councilor McNamee and wanted to give us a chance to respond. According to the reporter, he's worried about the "kind of element" we'd bring into the neighborhood. As a rule, I think our students and fans are the sort of people that any business would be happy to see walk through their door, but I thought I'd back it up with some numbers so we created this poll.

Please go fill it out. It'll take less than five minutes. This is an anonymous poll; the results are reported in aggregate (that is, we know how many people have a drink a week, but not who those people are). The results are only visible to us; once the poll is concluded, we'll release the totals. Please be as honest as you can. And thanks for playing!

One thing I would emphasize is about how quickly the women only annual show sells out, and how well-attended it is. The female positive angle is always a good one to take.

It's a good point -- although not so relevant since we won't be performing at the space in Quincy, just teaching classes and rehearsing.

But it shows your focus in general. And having a studio means you can teach more classes to make women more comfortable with themselves, etc...

I'm a little concerned that it would remind people that we do perform shows. My point is that we won't perform shows in the space we're renting.

This guys doesn't care about women being comfortable with themselves. They can be uncomfortable -- as long as they're fully clothed.

I get what you;'re saying. But I don't think it is about convincing this guy that you are right. It is about convincing enough Quincy residents that you are right that he cannot say no and be sure to keep his job.

The masters and doctorate degree answers are included in the income question, rather than the education question, which is where I suspect you'd want them.

Sadly, there's no way to edit polls. We came up with a work-around. Leave your actual income in the poll, tell me if you have a doctorate or masters in the comments.

You mean no field for "In Grad school"?

I messed up the poll and there's no way to edit it.

Advanced degrees are in income (don't ask).

So, click on your real income, then click on 'prefer not to say' for education, and leave me a comment about your level of education.

And thanks...
