I rarely (if ever?) post videos in my journal. This one is worth keeping for, er, posterity.

I counter with Jonathan Coulton cover of same.

The studio version is better as it has banjo in it. ;)

The crowd is unsettling quiet in that performance video. In other vids of the same song (by Coulton) the crowd is much more enthusiastic.

And... Hi? Who in the name of Matt Damon are you?

Yeah, that song gets quiet in his shows. I think it's because of Paul and Storm doing backup so peacefully.

Matt Damon? I am not fucking Matt Damon. Nor am I fucking Ben Affleck for revenge.

We have the mutual friend from Long Island that you grew up with. Met at a couple different FFF events. Remember now? ;)

I identified myself in some previous blog comment as well... but, well, that's easily enough forgotten.

So you did. And I had forgotten. Apologies.

Thank you. The refrain takes a while to drive from my brain, perhaps even more catchy that the original. Will I regret singing it as "Gotta get back" in front of my daughter?

Now to write up a Sondheim version and capture clips from Sweeney Todd...

Thanks to my friend [livejournal.com profile] brushrat, I have Sarah Silverman's "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" stuck in my head. It's really a catchy tune.

On the bed/on the floor/on a towel by the door/in the tub/in a car/up against the mini-bar...

He had a burlesque troupe open for him at a show I saw in San Diego last year. Get moving quick, he's got almost no voice left.
